NEWS - Meggie - stamm 18B1 by Cheenook

Meggie is getting fitter by the day.  At her most recent trail ride she completed the entire circuit with the addition of four reps of cantering up the steep hill and she was still full of energy at the end of the ride.

I watched with Ingrid riding and her way of going is fascinating.  Meggie covers the ground in a very efficient manner.  Today is gymnastics day and I can't wait to feel her powering over the fences.  Every time we do a gymnastic she has encountered before, her technique and power over the jumps is significantly improved from the previous session.

Meggie has been training beautifully and is now jumping 1.40m jumps at home as well as at the show grounds.  We unfortunately had to cancel our trip to Arizona (for details contact me directly at isauro@osjs.com)

The plan with her now is to take her to the smaller shows locally until our the first big show of the season here, the Thunderbird Show Park May show.  There based on how she is going is what level she will participate in.

What a treat to have Meggie back home and be able to ride her once again.   She is such an elegant mover.   It will be fun when I start jumping her again.

Surprisingly she has not missed a beat.  Right off the bat she was very energetic and focussed on her work.  I can't wait until next show season to compete with her.

The paddock at Deep Creek Veterinary is on a slope.  I guess she must have kept herself very active since I don't feel a significant drop in her fitness level.  Again kudos to Drs. Bruce and Susi Baker on a marvellous job.

We are heading out to Deep Creek Veterinary to pick up Meggie today.  I am very excited to start working with her again.  Marilyn (who is the owner of Meggie) will get a chance to meet Drs. Bruce and Susi Baker as well as the two recipients, Hope and Apple.

We are extremely pleased with the work Drs. Bruce and Susi Baker have done.  Everything from their professionalism, reasonable and fair billing practices, care of the horses and efficiency in producing both embryos with the first try each time has made it that we have absolutely no reservations in leaving the recipients there to foal out.

When I visited Meggie last she looked great - happy, relaxed and in good form.  As soon as she arrives we will be putting new shoes on her and off to work she goes.  It will be fun taking her to the park and doing her conditioning work there and around our track.

We have received news from Dr. Bruce Baker that the second recipient, Apple, has a healthy embryo in her.  That is excellent news for us.  Imagine, we now have two foals coming next year from Meggie and we did it in two tries.  One from V'Tropez and one from San Ramiro.

Kudos to Dr. Bruce Baker of Deep Creek Veterinary for his excellent work.  To get two successfully implanted embryos in two tries is a true testament to the professionalism and expertise that is present in their establishment.

THANK YOU!!

Meggie is now pregnant with her second embryo to San Ramiro.  We are now waiting for the transfer next week and are keeping our fingers crossed that we get the second successful embryo.

I just visited Meggie at Deep Creek Veterinary and she looks very happy.  Hats off to Drs. Bruce and Susi Baker for their wonderful care of Meggie.   What a treat to have her so well looked after.

I can't wait to have Meggie under saddle again.  Thinking about the feeling I had when I last jumped her a 1.40m oxer where she casually approached it all relaxed and then powered over it smoothly, lifting her hind end and disappearing her front  end under her in such a smooth arch.  What a jumper.

When she comes back I will be able to work her around the track and in the trails most of the time to get her conditioning back prior to starting her jumping again.  Lots of hill work coming up!!

The first embryo of Meggie's (by V'Tropez), implanted into a very sweet mare we called Hope, is looking healthy.  Both recipient and donor are doing well.

This week we will be sending semen of San Ramiro to Drs. Bruce & Susi Baker at Deep Creek Veterinary in Salmon Arm for them to inseminate Meggie and produce a second embryo for us.

When I first took Meggie to Deep Creek Veterinary I stayed for two weeks with her making sure she was settled.  I had the opportunity to watch Drs. Baker work on several mares and was very impressed with all aspects of their operation  including Drs. Baker's kindness and caring for the mares.

It is no surprise to me that Meggie's embryo transfer was successful first try, even though she was a 12 year old maiden,  considering how relaxed and happy an atmosphere is present in Deep Creek Veterinary.  All the people involved in the care of the horses love their work and the horses.

I can't wait to have Meggie back to ride and get ready for competitions.  While I was at Deep Creek Veterinary I kept riding her and she was absolutely amazing.  Her technique over a fence is extremely smooth, powerful and correct each and every jump regardless of the height.

I did get a chance to jump her over a 1.40m oxer 1.60m wide and she powered over it effortlessly.  I am thrilled that she is progressing in the right direction and loving her work.
